Mission Accomplished! Words cannot describe the beauty of the Wave. It was so awesome. We hired a company to take us, which was a good decision. Dreamland Safari was awesome and our tour guide Brent did a great job. He took us to some places we would not have seen without him. He showed us dinosaur tracks, Fatali's Boneyard, Sand Canyon, the Second Wave and some great viewpoints. Plus, he could take pictures of us together! He got us to the Wave at exactly the right time to take fantastic pictures.
The hike had a little more up and down than we were expecting, but it is still not too difficult. You walk in sand or on rocks. The heat would be the most difficult. It was only in the high 60s but we got some good sunburns and it was warm. There is very little to no shade on the hike. We can't even imagine doing it in the summer when the temperature can get into the 100s.
It took us 4 years to get a permit through the lottery system and it was worth it. We finally got one on-line, but we had attempted to get one in person a few times. We are already ready to go again. Hopefully, it won't take us 4 years this time around.
