We finally got a break from work and headed south to warmer weather. It was actually a little chilly each morning, but warmed up nicely by the end of the day. We hiked over 20 miles during our break and saw awesome sights like Mesa Arch (above). We even got some of our hikes crossed off. We did Delicate Arch (from Melinda's list) and Monument Loop Trail and Elephant Hill to Chesler Park (from Elisa's list). We started with Delicate Arch which we had done before, but it is still a beautiful hike to an amazing view. We hiked in Canyonlands next. We hiked from Elephant Hill to Chesler Park. We were going to hike to Druid Arch, but read some reviews and it said that Chesler Park had better views. We hiked over rocks and through slot canyons. You had to follow cairns to know where the trail went. It was awesome! The last hike from the list was in Natural Bridges National Monument. It is a hike to the three natural bridges in the park. The bridges are called Sipapu, Kachina, and Owachomo.
We also did a few other things that were not part of our top 10, but definitely worth it. We hiked to Bowtie and Corona Arch, which are outside of Arches National Park. We also hiked to a few arches in the Devil's Garden in Arches National Park. On our way home, we took a detour to the Bonneville Salt Flats. They were covered with water and so we couldn't drive on it, but racing takes place on the flats when it is dry. Our last stop was to Antelope Island. We both had lived near the island for years but had never driven out to see it.
