Big Springs to Mack's Inn
Our brother Jason and his family came up from Arizona for a couple weeks and so we decided to celebrate with some kayaking/canoeing. As you can see, it was a little cloudy and we did get a little rain right at the end. (The Arizonians were freezing, but we thought the 70 degree weather was pretty great.) The river was pretty shallow at the beginning and so pretty much everyone had to get out of their boats at least once and drag it to deeper water. Once we got going, the river was perfect. It took us between 1 1/2 to 2 hours to paddle that section. (Plan on a lot longer if you have people just floating the river.)
If you feel the urge for some water sport, I recommend checking out the BYU-I ORC. We have rented canoes, kayaks, and canoe trailers from them many times and their prices are more reasonable than many others in the area. Just plan on getting your stuff the night before your activity, if possible, because they are sometimes a little slow.
